The Packing Shed is available for use by various organisations, including other local charities as well as individuals, for a variety of outdoor activities including overnight camping, birdwatching, art classes, birthday parties, wedding receptions and special occasions. Parties of up to about 100 people can be accommodated and The Company Shed can provide seafood lunches on these occasions.

Two launches are available for hire, with drivers, including one with facilities for taking out disabled persons in wheelchairs. Facilities now include electricity from a diesel generator, which provides 240 volt power for lighting, heating water and a small microwave. Fresh water is taken out for each event in containers and chairs, tables, and some crockery are provided. There is even a flushing toilet using rainwater collected from the roof.
